About

Meet Kate VanderWeyst, HID #2835.

An educator first. A hearing specialist for over eight years. From Sauk Centre, now serving Alexandria.

My story

Why I came back to hearing.

I took a year away from the hearing industry and gave another career a real shot. Something was missing. The work that had defined the last decade of my life had quietly stayed with me.

What made it clear was the patients. Former patients started finding me — stopping me at restaurants, in line at the grocery store, asking where I'd gone and whether I could still help them. The kind of careful, time-taking service they'd come to expect just wasn't where they were going anymore.

That's why Select Hearing exists. So patients who want their hearing taken seriously have a place to go — one that's independent, takes insurance and discount plans into account, and isn't built around a sales quota.

Outside the office

Grew up in Sauk Centre. Live in Alexandria now with my husband and two children. Leisure time is mostly at the kids' sporting events, volunteering around the community, or helping out friends and family — same things any of my patients are likely doing on a Saturday.

My approach

Patient. Kind. No pressure. Educator first. I'll take all the time it needs to get you hearing better — and that includes looking at every reasonable option, including the ones that don't end in you buying anything from me today.

"Hearing takes time, patience, and commitment — from the provider and from the patient. I'm here to do my half of that."
